Bob Wartinger raised the C Mod Hydro record to 82.483 mph on an earlier run, but still ran over 80 mph with one blade missing from his Dewald propeller.
Brian McKnight topped four other competitors to establish the new to APBA Cal-Ore River Racer Hydro class. His speed was 82.142 mph. This class races white water marathons on the Rogue and Klamath Rivers as well as other venues for over 50 years. Class specs. are: 13'-6" hydro, stock 44 cu. in. Mercury powerhead, pipes allowed, racing lowerunit, 2 blade prop, overall weight 575 lbs. Many races have over 20 boats entered.
Denny Farster (r) set a new River Jet record at 102.073 mph.
Lloyd Mize made an appearance at this years kilos, but couldn't get water conditions to his liking.
Frank Banducci and grandson Brian Merkel trying to decide if they want to "buy" another set of runs.
