This is a link to the Champion I built from your fame kit.  Stretched it out to 11 feet and built it as a single cockpit in lieu of double.  The engine is a Mark10 power head on a cut KE tower and a coned utility foot (16/21 gears).  In the video my son is getting the feel of it but by the end of the summer was running it full open most of the time.  Tops out at about 30 mph as configured.
Best regards,

Frank Tamanko

Hello Darrell!

The boat is finally finished with 11 coats of varnish, hardware all mounted, and waiting to go to Florida for an AOMC meet and performance trials. I look forward to using the boat and having a great deal of pleasure from it. Thank you for all your help.

Update: Lester has replaced the Yamaha with a Fuji Para-mutual motor and gained 15 mph in speed. He is running the boat on Taal Lake which is the mouth of a volcano about 30 miles south of Manila. He would like to contact others from the Philippines who have interest in outboard hydroplanes. Phone no. +(46) 477-1324, Country code ++63. lester.orense@microtune.com

We built the boat at St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary High School, London, Ontario, as an after school club. You never know where your plans are going to end-up or how you will effect people in a positive growth

direction. I paid for all the materials and plans personally and the students worked on the boat once
a week for a few hours.  This gave them a chance to be involved in building a larger more time consuming project. Two other students were involved but are not pictured. Many other students are now interested in building boat models and I hooked another teacher who just finished a canoe.
